Life At Pyramid House
Who We Help
In 2019, the United States had a shortage of about 7 million affordable homes for low-income renters, resulting in only 37 affordable rental homes for every 100 low-income renter households. As a result, millions of America’s most economically vulnerable have suffered through the highest precarity, facing eviction, homelessness, and housing insecurity. At Pyramid House, we firmly believe that every person deserves safe and quality housing. We serve any person experiencing housing insecurity with a special focus on:
Young Adults aging out of foster care
Victims of Domestic Violence
Human Trafficking Victims
Justice Involved Reentry
Veterans
Our Housing Approach
The standards of Pyramid House operations are designed with the uniqueness of shared housing in mind. Being placed into a situation where strangers, from a range of backgrounds, are cohabitating can be understandably challenging. Accordingly, we understand that living in shared accommodations can take some getting used to. Living with others is about recognizing boundaries, valuing people’s space, and keeping an open mind in light of conflict. It is important that every resident is a willing and active participant in the following:
House Rules
House Rules are non-negotiable. Every resident is required to sign their agreement to abide by the house rules before they move in. House rules can be found HERE.
Weekly House Meetings
The best way to build community is to consistently communicate. Each house has weekly house meetings. Each resident is expected to participate and contribute to the meeting agenda.
Shared Responsibilities
Everyone is required to contribute to the regular maintenance of the house. In addition to cleaning up behind yourself after the personal use of spaces within the house, each resident will contribute to the weekly rotation of household chores.
Monthly House Activity
At least once a month there is a group activity, and every resident is expected to participate in the activity unless otherwise excused. Activities are developed based on the collective interest and input of the house residents.

Our Housing Solutions
We believe that the solution to diminishing housing instability requires more than just providing a home. The resources and support that we offer evince our conviction that a commitment to empowerment will foster the self-sufficiency and resilience needed to enable our residents to build brighter futures for themselves and future generations.
Enrichment & Opportunities
We are guided by the basic principle of meeting people where they are and providing the tools, resources, and support needed to maximize their potential. Our enrichment services and opportunities are determined based on the needs of the individuals residing in our homes.
